Ron Taylor Ron Taylor
Chairman & CEO

Ron's management and operational expertise was developed over the course of a long and successful career. Ten years at Allergan Pharmaceuticals put Ron in many different management roles throughout the organization, and in his six years at Hybritech, Inc., he was responsible for the company's operations and its international sales efforts. In 1987, Ron founded Pyxis Corporation, a venture capital financed business that he took public in 1992. Pyxis specializes in integrated software and hardware systems and services designed to improve efficiency and reduce costs associated with management and delivery of drugs and supplies in hospitals and nursing homes. Ron served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the company until its purchase by Cardinal Health, Inc. (NYSE: CAH) in 1996 for $1 billion. 

After the sale and transition of Pyxis to Cardinal Health, Ron was a General Partner at Enterprise Partners Venture Capital.  Ron is a director of two publicly traded companies, Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE: WPI) and WestCoast Hospitality Corporation (NYSE: CVH) and is Chairman of the Board for two private companies, 3E Company and EMN8 Corporation. 

Ron is an avid golfer, skier, and art collector. He is a director of the Board of Trustees San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art and is Vice Chairman of the University of California, San Diego Foundation. Mr. Taylor holds a BA from the University of Saskatchewan and Masters degree from the University of California, Irvine.

Linda, Founder of Asteres Inc., was the CEO of The StartUp Lab, Inc., a venture development company serving venture capital firms and venture-backed companies.  Previously she founded and was Chairman & CEO for DNA Dynamics, Inc., a top 10 finalist for San Diego’s most innovative new company of the year award in 1999.  Linda was hired as the 13th employee of Pyxis Corporation and served as Vice President of Business Development for 10 years. Linda successfully developed, patented and led Pyxis into new product offerings including SupplyStation, Pyxis Data System and PyxisStation.  She also created and led the Alternate Site Division to $20 million in revenue in two years. Linda took Pyxis outside healthcare constructing a licensing and equity deal with a private company pursuing industry applications of Pyxis products.  Pyxis enjoyed a successful IPO in 1992 and was sold to Cardinal Health for close to $1 billion in 1996.  Prior to Pyxis, Linda was in business development for Sharp HealthCare and Centinela Hospital.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from U.C. Davis, and a Masters in Business & Healthcare Administration from U.S.C.

Cy Talbot

Cyril Talbot, III
President & CFO

Mr. Talbot joined Asteres Inc. in September 2006 and was most recently the Chief Financial Officer of Mad Catz Interactive Inc. While there he led the development and implementation of the company's financial strategy and was responsible for managing all finance and treasury functions, bank and financial community relationships and conducting internal and industry analysis within the company. Prior to joining Mad Catz, Mr. Talbot served as Senior Vice President, Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary at DJ Orthopedics, Inc., an orthopedic sports medicine company. With more than 25 years of financial experience, Mr. Talbot held several management positions at both American Hospital Supply Corporation and McGaw, Inc., and as an Audit Manager and Certified Public Accountant at Miller, Cooper & Co., Ltd. Mr. Talbot earned his B.S. in Accounting/Finance at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Bob Hansen

Bob Hansen, PharmD.

Pharmacy Services and Customer Operations


Bob was most recently the Vice President of Pharmacy Operations for one of the nations leading drug store chains, Longs Drug Stores. Bob  has 30 years of experience in the retail drug industry. He began his career at Longs as a staff pharmacist and quickly worked his way up the ranks of pharmacy management. In 1998, Bob was promoted into Longs' corporate office to establish a pharmacy marketing and category management department, where he successfully launched chain-wide customer healthcare programs. In his role as vice president of Pharmacy Operations, Bob was responsible for the operation and automation of over 460 pharmacies, the mail order division and the opening of the first retail central fill facility in the Western United States. Bob did his pre-pharmacy work at San Jose State University, and received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of California at San Francisco.

Laird Broadfield

Laird Broadfield
Vice President of Research and Development

Laird was most recently Vice President of R&D for the Pyxis division of Fortune 500's 17th ranked Cardinal Health. Laird's responsibilities included product portfolio management and M&A evaluation as well as leading the product development staff of 220, encompassing product conception and design, embedded and application software development, hardware development, industrial design, and product assurance. He was the first member of Pyxis's development staff, and held various technical and management roles during his 16 years there, through the company's growth from its first narcotics control product to a suite of more than 70 products, including medication and supply management systems, clinical safety software, medication workflow systems, and point-of-care systems. He was a member of Pyxis's executive committee, and an officer of its development subsidiary. Prior to Pyxis, Laird worked in scientific software and instrument development for Hybritech, San Diego's first biotechnology company; his other technology experience includes work in instrument development for pharmaceutical companies and software design and operations for the financial services industry.

John Beane

John Beane
Vice President of Strategic Product Development

John, cofounder of Asteres, was most recently the CTO and VP of R&D of CardioNow, Inc. a venture backed company that digitizes Cardiac Angiography and Ultrasound images for hospitals, stores the media files on an Internet Data Center, and provides secure (HIPAA Compliant) access to the images to doctors world wide. He previously served as VP of Technical Services for Bridge Medical, where he designed and built a wireless mobile system that helped prevent medication errors at the patient bedside. He gained his first startup experience as the 17th employee of Pyxis Corporation. At Pyxis, John served as Director of Systems Consulting. He was a key contributor to the Pyxis MedSTATION and MedSTATION-Rx product lines. John also conceived of, developed the business plan, and designed a product to lead Pyxis into the Information Management Market Segment. Previous to Pyxis, John held various roles at Baxter Healthcare Corporation and XonTech, Inc.. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of New Hampshire.
