Founder and CEO
Linda, Founder of Asteres Inc., was most recently the CEO of The StartUp Lab, Inc., a venture development company serving venture capital firms and venture-backed companies. Previously she founded and was Chairman & CEO for DNA Dynamics, Inc., a top 10 finalist for San Diego’s most innovative new company of the year award. Linda was hired as the 13th employee of Pyxis Corporation and served as Vice President of Business Development. Linda successfully developed, patented and led Pyxis into new product offerings including SupplyStation, Pyxis Data System and PyxisStation. She also created and led the Alternate Site Division to $20 million in revenue in two years. Linda took Pyxis outside healthcare constructing a licensing and equity deal with a private company pursuing industry applications of Pyxis products. Pyxis enjoyed a successful IPO and was sold to Cardinal Health for close to $1 billion. Prior to Pyxis, Linda was in business development for Sharp HealthCare and Centinela Hospital. She has a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from U.C. Davis, and a Masters in Business & Healthcare Administration from U.S.C.
Vice President, Global Operations
Prior to Asteres, Shawn was Vice President, Sales Operations for PatientSafe Solutions, Inc. where he was accountable for the company’s field implementation operations, technical support, interface engineering, human resources, information technology, quality systems and clinical operations. As an operations management and customer service executive with over 20 years of experience, Shawn brings proven expertise in strategic planning, project management, manufacturing, materials management, training, technical support, and delivering operational excellence to Asteres. Prior to joining PatientSafe Solutions, Shawn served as Senior Vice President of Operations for EMN8 Enterprise Media Networks. In this role, he was responsible for providing product implementation and installation support services, creating site-specific policies and procedures, and ensuring customer training in all aspects of system operations. Previously, he spent more than 12 years in a variety of customer service, logistics and management roles, culminating in the position Vice President of Operations for Pyxis Corporation, a Cardinal Health Company. Shawn attended the University of Maryland University College Business Management program and received an A.S. degree in Business Management from San Diego Mesa College.
Vice President, Research and Development
Laird was most recently Vice President of R&D for the Pyxis division of Fortune 500’s 17th ranked Cardinal Health. Laird’s responsibilities included product portfolio management and M&A evaluation as well as leading the product development staff of 220, encompassing product conception and design, embedded and application software development, hardware development, industrial design, and product assurance. He was the first member of Pyxis’s development staff, and held various technical and management roles during his 16 years there, through the company’s growth from its first narcotics control product to a suite of more than 70 products, including medication and supply management systems, clinical safety software, medication workflow systems, and point-of-care systems. He was a member of Pyxis’s executive committee, and an officer of its development subsidiary. Prior to Pyxis, Laird worked in scientific software and instrument development for Hybritech, San Diego’s first biotechnology company; his other technology experience includes work in instrument development for pharmaceutical companies and software design and operations for the financial services industry.
Vice President, Finance
Tim has spent much of his career managing the finance and accounting affairs of venture backed companies. Prior to Asteres, Tim provided consulting CFO services for companies preparing for their first financial statement audits, ventures preparing to raise debt and equity, and assisted companies who needed help with complex financial models and business analysis. Tim spent five years at SupplyPro Inc where he played an integral role in raising $28M in capital and establishing the company’s accounting policies and procedures. Tim earned his California CPA license based on the experience he built working as a public Auditor with Arthur Andersen and a corporate auditor with Beneficial Corporation. Tim graduated cum laude with a BBA in Finance and Business Economics from the University of Notre Dame. He is a member of the AICPA and the HFMA.
