SX - How it works

Prepare items	Asteres' SX product is used to manage and deliver items to customers quickly and securely. If prescriptions are being prepared for SX delivery, they are filled as usual by the pharmacy staff. All items to be delivered through SX are transported to the unit to be loaded into the system. This may be at the location where the items were prepared or in a separate building more frequently visited by customers. A hub and spoke approach may be used where items are prepared at one location and dropped off to numerous SX sites.
Login to SX	Personnel access SX with an ID and PIN or fingerprint scan. The SX provides a pharmacy menu for loading or removal of items. The SX tracks all activity for up to the minute reporting on who has accessed the system and what items have been handled or delivered.
Scan item to load	Each item is scanned and one of three bin sizes are available for selection. SX is comprised of three sized bins (small, medium and large) and can be configured to accommodate your locations needs. A typical configuration can hold up to 340 items.
Load item	Once a bin size is selected, the corresponding bin door opens, notifying personnel the item can be placed inside. The bin door is closed and the item is ready for delivery. SX items do not require any sort of overwrap, but at least one item in each order must contain a bar-code. This process is repeated for each individual item. Also, items ready to be returned to stock are presented on a pharmacy menu and SX moves to locate and present each item for removal.
Customers pick up items... Anytime!	After items are loaded into SX, customers can come to pick up their items anytime. The SX can accommodate the need for customers to log in (prescriptions) or to simply search for items by name, category, or quick code (general merchandise). SX interfaces with your current systems to always display real-time product and pricing information. Customers pay at SX with a credit, debit, or FSA card. The SX unit can also interface with your current systems to offer payroll deduction, loyalty club information, product alerts, Flexible Spending Account information and pharmacy services such as order refills or automatic payment. The SX also offers marketing opportunities such as on-screen surveys and configurable printed coupons. All customer pick ups are recorded with a photo and signature captured for added security.
